Putting People at the heart of learning

On the 20th July, the Chief Executive of OCN NI, Martin Flynn, signed OCN up to The Learning Charter for Belfast.  This Learning Charter has been drawn up to ensure that all organisations involved in delivering Lifelong Learning across the city can sign up to a set of guiding principles and related actions to establish Belfast as a Learning City. The BSP was established by the Public Health Agency (PHA), Belfast City Council (BCC) and the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust (BHSCT) to provide a collaborative approach in addressing life inequalities in Belfast.

“On behalf of OCN, I am delighted to collaborate with Belfast Strategic Partnership (BSP) and support their commitment to establish Belfast as a learning city.  The guiding principles for the Learning Charter for Belfast align with OCN NI’s mission, to recognise and reward learning so that people of all ages achieve their goals in life and work.”

Dolores Atkinson, Project Development Outreach Officer commented, “On behalf of BSP’s Lifelong Learning Group I am delighted that OCN NI have signed up to the Learning Charter for Belfast.  We encourage all organisations to sign up and firmly establish Belfast as a city with a strong and vibrant culture of learning for everyone.”
