Student guide to awarding: summer 2021

In response to the disruption students have faced due COVD-19 pandemic, the governments in England and NI have said that many exams and assessments cannot be held fairly this year.

For those qualifications were assessments could not be completed due to the restrictions, your result can be based on teacher judgement – in this case your results will be submitted by your teachers based on their assessment of what you have shown you know and can do, enabling you to progress to the next stage of your education, training, or employment.

This guide below was developed by the qualifications regulators and outlines the arrangements in place for awarding grades in summer 2021, and where you can go for additional information.

Please note: OCN NI do not award GCSEs and A Levels, therefore this document is only relevant in relation  to how vocational and technical qualifications will be awarded in summer 2021

Please see below guide for students on how GCSEs, A levels, vocational and technical qualifications will be graded and awarded in summer 2021.
