Getting to know us: Andrea Doree

10/03/2022

Tell us about your career history to date.
Most of my career to date has been within the Tourism Industry. Starting my career off with a local newspaper, then moving to a local NI tour operator where I spent most of my time organising group travel for many different organisations across Northern Ireland including Schools, Youth Groups, Special Interest, Charity, and funded groups etc.

What does your role at OCN entail?
As a Customer Services Administrator I am responsible for providing advice and guidance to existing and new centres on all aspects of OCN NI's qualifications and services, as well as maintaining and updating internal MI (Management Information) systems/databases such to ensure accuracy of information.

What do you most look forward to in your role at OCN?
Having only joined OCN NI in April 2021, I am looking forward to progressing within OCN NI, by continuing to learn and develop my skills to be fully competent within my role.

What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to socialise with my family and friends. I enjoy eating out, watching a good TV series, and family holidays. I also enjoy exercise and regularly work out; I especially enjoy family walks with our spoilt Cocker Spaniel.

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
'If its not a blessing it’s a lesson' - I like this saying as it reminds me that when things haven’t worked out as you had hoped, to take the good from it and move on. And if it is a Blessing then enjoy it!
