Qualification Aim

The OCN NI Level 2 Award in Infant and Child Mental Health and its Impact on Social and Emotional Development qualification has been designed to enable the learner to understand the factors that affect infant mental health and development.

Qualification Objectives

The objectives of the qualification are to enable learners to understand:

social and emotional development in infants from 0-3 years
how mental health and other factors may affect a child’s social and emotional development
how to support a child’s social and emotional development
how to use everyday care routines and activities to support independence, health, safety and well-being
how to support children through life transitions including strategies and activities that support a child’s social and emotional development
