The voluntary and community sector, also known as the third sector, comprise organisations that are not-for-profit and non-governmental. This sector is hugely diverse, covering social enterprises, neighbourhood watch groups, national and international charities.
From its inception OCN NI has worked with a wide range of voluntary and community sector organisations across the province to develop programmes and qualifications that meet learner requirements. Having worked with this sector for over 20 years OCN NI has created bespoke pieces of learning through endorsed provision which is targeted at individual organisational requirements and has enabled learners to start on their learning journey and assist them in the world of work or on to further education or training. Some of this endorsed provision has progressed on to nationally accredited qualifications where appropriate.
Anne-Marie McClure, Chief Executive of Start360 says “At Start360 we really value the importance of OCN NI qualifications. It helps us to ensure our staff are professionally trained and our service users are best equipped to move into training or employment. In other words, OCN NI ensures all Start360’s learning and training needs are met. I am immensely proud of the achievements of our participants”
