The OCN NI qualifications in Managing Personal Finances have been designed to help learners develop effective finance and budgeting skills that will help them take control of their money, stay out of debt, begin to generate savings and reduce financial anxiety.
These qualifications aim to develop confidence, self-esteem and independence in life and work skills. Learners cover a mixture of vocational and creative skills, as well as continuing to improve the literacy and numeracy skills required for everyday life.
OPEN COLLEGE NETWORK NI (OCN NI) has announced details of its sixth Learning Endeavour Awards which aim to recognise and celebrate the achievements of individuals and their training providers, by highlighting the power of learning to transform lives for the better.
A new body called the Alliance for Lifelong Learning (ALL) has been created to support and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all across Northern Ireland. The strategic aim of the ALL will be to support the development of a ‘Lifelong Learning Strategy’ and the creation of an associated action plan, as identified in the Skills Strategy for Northern Ireland – Skills for a 10x Economy, set out by the Department for Education (DFE).
