The objectives of the OCN NI Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering (Northern Ireland) are to enable the learner to gain the skills and knowledge to be able to work safely on electrical power systems. Learners must comply with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements and work with electrical power network technical information, and may specialise in one or more of the following areas:• cable jointing • overhead power lines • substation, switchgear and plant To achieve this qualification learners must complete a minimum of 96 credits – both mandatory units (36 credits) plus a minimum of 60 credits from only one of the optional pathways (ie, Overhead Line, Substation or Cable Jointing)
